China Food and Drinks Fair (hereinafter referred as CFDF) was founded in 1955 with two editions (spring and autumn) per year and has gone through 98 editions. CFDF is oriented to help food and beverage exhibitors to develop the 2nd and 3rd tiers cities covering the huge consumption market potential.

The autumn show is a road show to develop different regional markets, taking the recent cities for example, Wuhan-Chongqing-Nanjing-Fuzhou-Chongqing since 2013. CFDF 2018 autumn will be held in Changsha in Hunan Province, deep cultivating central China and south China.

Eight national pavilions including United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Poland and China Hong Kong were attracted to participate in the Imported Food and Beverage Exhibition Zone (shortly named IFB) during CFDF 2018 spring. More and more international brand owners and leading F&B importers choose CFDF as their first choice to develop sub-channels.

Hunan will be the chief player at CFDF 2018 autumn which also will be covered by the eight provinces Hubei, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guangdong, Henan and Anhui. The growth rate of second-, third- and fourth-tier cities reached 59% in 2017, significantly higher than that of first-tier and new first-tier cities. Moreover, the growth gap continues to widen. The status of first-tier cities as the doyen in consumption remains unchallenged, contributing 41% to the national total, of which new first-tier cities account for 22%, and second- and third-tier cities account for some 18%. The sales growth rate of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) reached a new high in three years driven by high-end consumption and urbanization.

Changsha, the provincial capital, first saw its GDP surpass one trillion in 2017. It reached RMB 1.053551 trillion, an increase of 9.4%, ranking the first in the province in terms of economic aggregate and growth rate. Consequently, Changsha became one of China's 14 cities with a GDP exceeding RMB 1 trillion. Gaoqiao Market in Hunan is the largest national-level comprehensive wholesale market in Mid-South China and the third largest comprehensive market in the country. It serves more than 10 surrounding provinces and municipalities like Jiangxi, Hubei, and Guangdong. With an annual cargo flow of 50 million tons and a trading volume of over RMB 100 billion, it stands at the heart of the largest and most mature core business district of Hunan.
