Positive Exploration and Deep Expansion for Regional Market by Imported Food and Beverage Exhibition Zone of China Food and Drinks Fair
The 97th China Food and Drinks Fair lasting three days from November 10 to 12, 2017 was ended in Chongqing International Expo Center, with a total exhibition area of 156,000 square meters, in which over 3,100 enterprises showed their high-quality products, attracting nearly 200,000 person-time visitors accumulatively.
At this Fair, the Imported Food And Beverage Exhibition Zone presented the current market situation about China’s imported food, the implementation of new retail, and other splendid contents through product show, onsite matchmaking, summit forum, etc. to carry out positive exploration for deep expansion in regional market.
Food of countries along the “Belt and Road” had extraordinary performance, and Russian products attracted much attention.
The Imported Food And Beverage Exhibition Zone of this Fair welcomed a group of exhibitors of Australia, Thailand and other countries. In addition, along with active promotion of the “Belt and Road”, the food of countries along the line had extraordinary performance, and especially, the products presented by Russian goods attracted the most attention, with visitors gathering around the exhibition booths, including KDV, Slavs candies, Alenka chocolates, Потап linden honey, Mykfa flour, etc. Katyusha, Heihe Fengtai Jidian Product Trading Co., Ltd. and other enterprises also gained many achievements in this Zone. During this Chongqing exhibition in autumn, many exhibitors were also looking forward to the Fair in spring of 2018, and a number of them have already started to work on the exhibition plan for next year.

Focusing on new retail, implementation as the key point
The Zone-supporting activity Summit Forum of “Golden Product and New Channel” had been successfully held for eight times before. In this Fair, the 9th Forum continued the new retail topic in the spring of the first half year, which focused on changes of new retail channel and marketing mode to deepen the discussion on implementation of new retail. The Forum invited important experts from Kantar Worldpanel, China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce, China Ants Alliance, Shanghai Shuangchuang Law Firm, Hangzhou Weixiao Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., Day Day Cook, etc., to interpret the imported food development trend in Chinese market, incentive to the growth potential of new retail era, positive transformation of traditional retail under new environment, food safety challenge of new retail era, how to “play” the We-Media and e-commerce for money, and other topics, which offered many industrial knowledge and experience for professional visitors in multidirectional views. The visitors carefully listened to the speeches onsite, made records, positively interacted with the distinguished experts, and expressed their opinions.

Commercial activities with excellent quality and reasonable price to explore and deeply expand the regional market
Since the Imported Food And Beverage Exhibition Zone established in 2013, the “One-on-One Matchmaking Meeting” has been well received by exhibitors and professional visitors, aiming to provide them with opportunities for accurate commercial negotiations and matchmaking. During the preparation period for the Fair, teams of Shanghai Master Expo, the agency for Imported Food And Beverage Exhibition Zone, had worked for three months to invite important purchasers in eight major provincial-capital cities to attend this “One-on-One Matchmaking Meeting” for helping exhibitors expand the regional market. On this matchmaking event, there was a purchaser, who ordered the Russian sunflower oil and chocolates at the opening. Up to now, 62.33 percent of the purchasers had found the intended products, with rich achievements according to preliminary statistics.
As one of the activities of China Food and Drinks Fair, the “Global Food Festival” allowed enterprises to directly enter into six department supermarkets (Shin Kong Place Department Store, a Jiangbei store of Far Eastern Department Stores as well as Jiefangbei Shangdu Store, Jinyu Avenue Store, Shiji Xindu Store and Daping Shangdu Store of Chongqing Firm New Century Department Store Chain Operation Co., Ltd.) at the core downtown of Chongqing for retail promotion. During the ten days from November 3 to 12, over 60 brands and nearly 500 types of products were involved in, and exhibitors through linked action of exhibition and store achieved double benefits in one exhibition. Based on incomplete statistics, relevant single product involved in this activity had its sales increased nearly twice on the average.
